Science seminar organized by Is-mail National Degree College and Swatch Meerut foundation 8th September 2023 This seminar was directed by Dr. Chandra Mohan Nautiyal, who is a physicist and is known for his contributions to the theory and practice of science communications. The main motive about this seminar was to make the students aware about the recent launch of a satellite named Candrayan 3. In that seminar he briefly explained about the formation of the moon, in which he gave us an extraordinary information about moon being made by a small part of the earth’s surface. The satellite which they launched on 14th July 2023, had landed near the south part of the moon, it is the first satellite which has ever gone that close to the south pole. Currently the satellite is on 59° angle. He also explained about the landing process which was entirely depended upon an algorithm. The satellite is covered with aluminum mash which will protect the internal parts, if the satellite is about to crash. Dr. Chandra Mohan also informed us about a fact that the temperature of the moon is 130° c which is responsible for the evaporation of the condensed water. He also explained about a main difference between the earth`s surface and moon`s and that is the glass like material found on the surface of the moon named agglutinate. The stands were made from Titanium to absorb the shock from the landing. At last there were questions asked about his seminar. Report by - Janani Mohan (XI – A)
